Custom Cabinetry in Houston, TX

In a city as big as Houston, it’s easy to end up as just another job number with a large remodeling company or cabinet dealer. KG HomePro works differently. We are a small team of master carpenters and cabinet makers, and since 1989 we’ve built our reputation one Houston home at a time.

We give our full attention to one client and one project at a time. You’ll deal directly with the craftsman who designs, builds and installs your cabinetry, so there are no project managers, sales reps or rotating crews to go through. That personal approach is how we keep our timelines, respond quickly to your questions and deliver consistent quality.

Your cabinetry is built in our Magnolia workshop from quality hardwoods with furniture-grade joinery. We never subcontract, and we never use particle board, MDF, vinyl veneers, plastic corners, hot-glued joints or inferior hardware. It’s a simple formula of craftsmanship, integrity and honest pricing, and it’s why most of our Houston clients come to us through repeat business and referrals.

Custom Cabinetry and Fine Carpentry for Houston Homes and Offices

Custom Kitchen Cabinetry in Houston

Whether your Houston home is older with an unusual layout or newer and short on storage, every kitchen is different. We design custom kitchen cabinetry around your specific space and routine, then build it in the wood, door style and finish you select.

Once approved, an average complete kitchen is shop-built in about 23 days. Because the cabinetry arrives finished, the time we spend in your home is short, usually 4 to 7 days from demolition through installation.

Custom Bathroom Vanities and Storage in Houston

Houston humidity is tough on bathroom cabinetry. We build custom vanities, linen cabinets and storage from quality materials with finishes selected to stand up to moisture, and we size every piece to make the most of your bathroom’s space.

Custom Built-In Cabinetry and Entertainment Centers in Houston

Built-ins can bring order and character to living rooms, studies, bedrooms and game rooms. We create custom bookcases, media and entertainment centers, window seats and display cabinetry with features such as arched tops, fluted columns, custom doors and integrated lighting.

We tailor each built-in to your home’s architecture, complete it in our shop and install it on site, most often in a day or two.

Home Offices, Libraries and Walk-In Closets

We design home offices, study and library cabinetry, and walk-in closets that make the most of every square foot. Each space is built with the same furniture-grade quality as our kitchen cabinetry.

Architectural Millwork and Custom Doors in Houston

Whether you’re restoring character to an older home or adding distinction to a new one, our millwork makes the difference. We craft fireplace mantels and surrounds, columns, arches and radius millwork, custom doors and specialty pieces.

Residential and Light Commercial Carpentry in Houston

Our carpenters handle detailed trim and specialty projects for Houston homes, including:

• Finish trim
• Custom stairways
• Interior build-outs and renovations
• Room conversions
• Special projects

Houston businesses and professional offices hire us too. We’ve completed light commercial projects including custom reception areas, executive and law offices, and display cabinets, all finished to the same standard as our residential work.

Our Custom Cabinetry Process for Houston Homeowners

Meet With a Master Craftsman at Your Houston Home

We can typically schedule a free appointment within 2 to 3 days. The craftsman who will build your project visits in person to see the space, take measurements and understand your goals. Usually, one meeting is all it takes to define the scope and budget.

Receive Drawings, a Proposal and an Estimate

We take your ideas, photos or sketches and develop a full design using computerized drafting, giving you a clear picture of the finished project in advance. If you’re working with an interior designer or architect, we’re glad to collaborate. You’ll receive a detailed project description, tentative design layout and cost estimate at no cost.

Approve a Price That Won’t Change

Your project is priced individually according to its scope and detail. After you approve the written proposal, we never exceed the stated price. No change-order surprises.

Craftsmanship in Our Magnolia Shop

We fabricate and finish your cabinetry in our shop, which takes about 23 days for an average kitchen. Shop building gives us full control over quality and keeps construction dust and noise out of your home.

Personal Installation, No Outside Crews

The same cabinet maker who built your cabinetry installs it, because no one knows your project better. We never send outside contractors. A kitchen typically takes 4 to 7 days on site, while built-ins usually take a day or two.

Responsive Communication Every Step of the Way

From the first meeting through completion and long after, you can reach us directly with questions or to discuss your project.

Completed Custom Media Center Project in the Houston Area

Master Bedroom Media Center With Electric Fireplace

For this Houston-area master bedroom, we built a stained custom media center with a linear electric fireplace at its base and a recessed opening for the TV. Illuminated live-edge floating shelves frame each side, while dentil crown molding, fluted pilasters and Texas star accents complete the traditional look. Our craftsman installed the finished piece in a day or two.
