Custom Master Bedroom Media Center With Electric Fireplace in the Houston Area

A homeowner in the Houston area wanted to turn a plain wall in their master bedroom into a true focal point, with room for a television, storage and the warmth of a fireplace. Freestanding furniture couldn’t give them the built-in, furniture-grade look they had in mind, so they reached out to K.G. HomePro. After a free on-site consultation, our team measured the space and talked through how the room was used. We then provided a detailed written proposal with tentative drawings, so the homeowner could see the full design and know the exact price before any work began.

The finished media center is built from [wood species] with a rich, warm stain. It centers on a linear electric fireplace set into a paneled base, with a recessed television opening above it and a drawer below the TV. Tall open shelving on each side features live-edge floating shelves in a natural finish, lit by integrated LED lighting that also washes up toward the ceiling from the top of the unit. The design is finished with dentil crown molding, fluted pilasters, raised panel cabinet doors and a Texas star accent on each side of the fireplace. Like all of our built-ins, the media center was fabricated and finished in our Magnolia workshop, then installed by our own craftsmen with no outside contractors, so the on-site work took only a day or two.

The result is a master bedroom anchored by a warm, custom piece that blends traditional millwork with rustic live-edge character and a personal touch of Texas pride. Projects like this show how a well-designed built-in can transform an ordinary wall into the most striking feature of a room. K.G.
